The broadcast was approximately 30 minutes, let’s recap what was shown!
Our host for the transmission is Chihiro Yoshizaki and he is joined by Series Producer Motoi Okamoto.
The presentation begins by showing off a story teaser trailer.

“Shimizu Hinako was living her life as an ordinary teenager.
That is, until her town is suddenly shrouded in fog and begins to change in a horrific way.
Now, she must explore a town she no longer recognizes while solving puzzles, fighting strange enemies, and doing everything she can to survive…
In order to face the ultimate decision she must make.
This is a tale about a beautiful yet terrifying choice.”
The first game in the series to be set in Japan, it will focus on Japanese themes. The overall vision of the game is to “Find the beauty in terror.”
The script for Silent Hill F is written in collaboration with a renowned Japanese horror script writer known by the pen name Ryukishi07. He is celebrated for the visual novel series, When They Cry.
Having a deep understanding of the Silent Hill series, he pledges to leverage the female protagonist in a way that is not accessory to another character’s story. Her journey is her own, and she will be making choices like the aforementioned, for the better or worse.

The presentation then moves on to the setting of Silent Hill F, Ebisugaoka.
Ebisugaoka is proudly inspired by the real life Kanayama, Gero, Gifu Prefecture.
Reference photos and audio were taken to properly portray the lighting and “feeling” of the location in better detail.

The back alleyways and history serves as inspiration for Ryukishi07’s script direction.
Concept art was shown off next! Artist Kera assures fans that the series is in good hands with their proclaimed love for the series:

A major series composer, Akira Yamaoka joins our hosts to talk about the music. The 25 year veteran was asked about his mindset when composing this game. He acknowledged that he wanted fans of the series to have a sense of familiarity despite the Japanese setting. That is where our second composer is also introduced. He is responsible for the emotion of the gameplay to lead the Japanese thematic influence. Both beautiful and terrifying music.

Director Mr. Okamoto was asked directly, why bring the series to Japan? And if the series had begun to be influenced by pressure from the fandom. He replied by explaining that although the game is set in Japan, the Japanese influence should feel familiar to long-time fans. The game’s have always had a very Japanese touch, but it had been slowly watered-down as the series went on. This aims to be a snap back to the original inspiration.
The transmission ended with Yamaoka stating:
“Silent Hill F is filled with a lot of firsts– its Japanese setting, its gameplay, and the world it brings you are all new.
And still, it preserves the essence of what a Silent Hill game is.”
