It’s Gamescom 2025 time and to mark the occasion, Capcom has revealed some great new information about their highly anticipated upcoming sci-fi adventure PRAGMATA!
As protagonists Hugh and Diana battle for their escape from the lunar research station, a variety of enemies will impede their progress and provide challenging obstacles to overcome during their adventure to safety. Included in this faction of formidable foes are the unsettling humanoid robots called ‘Walkers‘ that are based off the M4 series, Delphi Corporation’s most successful line of product.

The Walkers have the ability to use tools and work alongside humans, making them a popular choice for support roles when they aren’t actively trying to kill you! In lunar environments, the improved M4AM design is capable of handling low-gravity, vacuum-like conditions, meaning even in the void of space, they are still functionally capable of completing their objectives.

Another, powerful enemy that players will have to face off against is a boss-type enemy known as the SectorGuard. The SectorGuard, from product line S-35, is a large-sized robot developed by Delphi’s military manufacturing division. It was built mainly to protect high-priority installations. This means it isn’t just a presumably rogue engineering bot… it’s designed for defense. The spherical modules located on both of its arms are fitted with guided weaponry and low-gravity ballistics, meaning players won’t find any comfort without proper strategy and expert execution, needing to utilize Hugh’s thrusters to dodge attacks while Diana hacks the hulking hardware.

While engaging in combat with the SectorGuard, players will encounter a new hacking ability called Overdrive Protocol. As its gauge fills up, Diana unlocks the ability to simultaneously hack surrounding enemies, forcibly opening up their armor and temporarily halting their movement, all while allowing for Hugh to fulfill his role of dealing direct damage. It’s a powerful attack, but it’s one that is best preserved for the perfect place!
To enhance Diana’s hacking abilities, players are able to collect Hack Nodes from the environment to use in combat that are activated by passing through them in the Hacking Matrix. One of these nodes, referred to as the Decode Node, allows for the temporary decrease of enemy defenses during hostile encounters, providing a much-needed boost to the player’s combat efficacy for a limited time. The Hack Nodes add a layer of unique complexity to the game’s already intriguing combat system, as they provide more opportunities for strategic decision-making during tense battles.

Fans can go hands-on with PRAGMATA this week at Gamescom 2025 and other upcoming events, including PAX West 2025 in Seattle, Washington starting from August 29 to September 1. Players can also get a feel for the Hacking mechanics by visiting the official website and trying a special “Hacking Minigame” that can be played in web browsers.
PRAGMATA launches in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
