Predecessor continues to innovate and push the MOBA genre forward, creating something truly unique out of what Epic Games left behind with Paragon. Omeda Studios is launching their biggest update and newest hero in patch 1.4 on March 11th and I couldn’t be more excited. Here comes the beast.
If you have played Predecessor for as long as I have, we’ve seen a lot a changes and patch 1.4 will be Predecessor’s biggest update yet. I won’t bore you with all the little details, so let’s dive into the highlights and break down their latest hero!
We’ve all wanted something to grind when playing Predecessor. We saw a small tease with the 30-tier battle pass over the holidays. Now, we’re going to get a 60-tier battle pass and the introduction of Loot Cores. The battle pass appears to be based off of TwinBlast’s Shadow Ops skin and loot cores are similar to loot crates, but they are purchased with Ambers, in-game currency, not real money.

Every hero has been reworked with a large focus on MidLaner’s. Look for Iggy and Fey to scale up to new heights in the late game. Iggy’s turret’s now hit 50% faster when heroes are hit with his Spew ability. Because Iggy wasn’t already a beast to contend with.
Speaking of the beast, let’s dive into the newest hero to join Predecessor, Boris. Boris has been completely reworked from his Paragon days. Let’s break him down!

Passive Ability – Tesseract Device
A device where every second basic attack against Heroes and monsters fills a canister on the device on Boris’s back each canister fill fuels Boris further granting additional attack speed as well as on hit healing. Once the Tesseract devices are full, it will self detonate dealing extra damage and selfhealing.

Primary Ability – Detection Protocol
Using his strong sense of smell, he’ll able to active his primary to sniff out nearby enemy hero’s, if Boris catches a scent, the enemy will be marked and a trail will appear leading him towards the target granting him a boost of movement speed. However, this comes at a cost with the opposing enemy being notified that Boris is on their trail.

Secondary Ability – Primeval Roar
He projects a defensive barrier to reduce damage for a short duration, after the duration Boris unleashes an unforgettable roar to explode the barrier dealing huge damage to all enemies in the vicinity.

Alternative Ability – Chrono Swipe
Chronos swipe is Boris’s alternate ability where he dashes forward slashing twice at all enemies in his path dealing physical damage.

Ultimate Ability – Ursine Burst
Boris hovers above the ground before blasting forward and seizing the first enemy hero he collides with. Grabbing the enemy firmly in his claws Boris then leaps into the air and slams them into the ground dealing massive damage to the target and all enemies in the blast radius as well as slowing them for a short duration.
Those are just some of the highlights and a look into Boris that drops on March 11th. Let us know if you will be jumping into Predecessor.
