Nate Fox Wants an Infamous Trilogy Remaster | Though Sucker Punch is All-In on Ghost of Yōtei

In a recent interview with the freshly reformed Game Informer, Nate Fox of Sucker Punch said that he would love to see a trilogy re-release of the Infamous games, but due to the studio’s policy of only working on one game at a time, this isn’t likely to happen anytime soon.

The first entry in the Infamous series released back on the PS3 in 2012 with the final installment releasing only a few years later in 2014. It’s been a long time since players had the opportunity to control the Karma influenced super-powered protagonists, but if fans are vocal enough and share their desires and feedback with the studio, it shouldn’t be long before that get back to the series during this era of remakes and remasters.

“I would love to work on more Infamous,” said Fox. “I would love to see a trilogy rerelease, but Sucker Punch is a one game at a time shop, and right now we are very focused on finishing Ghost of Yōtei.”

Ghost of Yōtei is the primary focus for the studio at this time, and though it is set to be a successful epic akin to previous titles from the studio, many fans are now voicing the opinion that they’d much prefer a return to Infamous, whether as remasters, a sequel, and even spin off ideas have been circulating in the community.

Fox has been working at Sucker Punch since 2002, back when he was a designer on the very first Sly Cooper game! He was also the game director for all of the Infamous games and their expansions. This experience led Fox to directing Ghost of Tsushima and now co-directing the aforementioned sequel Ghost of Yōtei with Jason Connell. With this type of power and pull, hopefully his dream of returning to the moody superhero franchise isn’t such a longshot. There’s always hope!

Ghost of Yōtei will be released on October 2nd, exclusively on PS5.
