Recent information has come to light which has suggested that 2K is preparing an announcement relating to the Bioshock franchise. While we still don’t know when this news will drop, we fully expect the information to come sooner rather than later, looking at the end of summer.
The information that is currently on the loom doesn’t particularly point to anything in direct correlation. However, it could be the details of a project announced by 2K several years back, such as Bioshock 4 or the upcoming Netflix film. However, some of the information suggests another spanner in the works – a remake or a solid remaster of the og Bioshock!
Correlating to the current information, there seems to be heavy talk of the city of Rapture and the potential revisit to the old city which was shrouded in mystery. This would be huge considering that we could get a proper revisit to the original Bioshock. However, a new Bioshock in the series would be a welcome return to the franchise at this point.
In July of last year, there was information retained that appeared to show early screenshots of Bioshock 4, though don’t get your hopes up just yet as we cannot be certain. However, with the information that is looming in the rumour mill, we seem to be seeing a lot remake speak, so a remake may, however, be more possible than the Bioshock 4, as we flash back to an old employee also commenting that they were working on the unannounced remake at the studio, but this information seemed to have flown by.
Regardless of what we may get, fully expect an official 2K announcement by the end of summer at the end of the Summer Games Fest 2025! Fans have huge expectations of this as there has been no real update since around 2019 and the Bioshock fans are getting eager at the thought of a return to the franchise! Speaking as a fan of the series on the current re-run of it, so am I!
