Raymond’s studio which she founded – Haven Studios (part of Sony)-is now seeming a little bit rudderless as Jade Raymond has departed from the studio without any apparent reasoning. The Playstation Leadership has not given a reason to Haven Studio’s staff, but this came several weeks after an external play test was done on Haven’s first rodeo, which is the online shooter known as Fairgames.

Haven developers were deeply concerned about how the game was received in the test and how much progress has been made. This comes from people on the inside who have asked to have their identities kept anonymous as they aren’t authorized to speak publicly as yet.
A PlayStation spokesperson said “Jade Raymond has been an incredible partner and visionary force in founding Haven Studios”. This was followed by “We are deeply grateful for her leadership and contributions, and we wish her all the best in her next chapter”. The spokesperson also stated that the company (PlayStation) is committed to supporting Haven studios and is excited to continue the journey alongside the new studio heads – Marie-Eve Danis and Pierre-Francois Sapinski.
Fairgames, the notable love child of Raymond and Haven Studios, which was announced in 2023, is one of the last few live service green lights from PlayStation in recent years. PlayStation, if we remember, said it planned to release more titles which were designed to pull in recurring revenue from players (Live service). However, many of those titles have since been cancelled or were a disaster come launch…. Looking at you, Concord, looking right at you. Fairgames was poised for Fall 2025 but has since been delayed to next spring.
Jade Raymond hasn’t responded to any requests for comments since leaving her role at the company, a reminder here that Raymond is a long-serving video game executive who previously worked at Ubisoft Entertainment SA, EA Inc, and Google’s Stadia. After which, she founded Haven Studios in 2021, which again seems to have been thrown into chaos as Raymond seems to have left for no apparent reason. However, much speculation is circulating around the rocky development and concerns about Fairgames may be a reason why. Does this mean that Fairgames looks to be DOA? Or could this mean that we could see Fairgames turn a new leaf and generate more interest? For now, who knows, as this is all very new and more information regarding this could be released soon.
As always, let us know in the comments below what you believe could have happened or what you think about this. Do you think it was due to a rocky development at Haven? Or do you think that Raymond left to outside sources?
