The very successful release of Monster Hunter Wilds, combined with the heavy sales of other titles, which include previous entries within the Monster Hunter series, have started the car, added jet fuel and driven the car to the moon to spearhead yet another record year for CAPCOM!

The Japanese publisher shared new documents today which feature the financial results for the year ending March 31st, and they reported 169,604 million net sales and 65,777 million Yen operating income. An increase of 11.3% and 15.2%, which are respectable numbers when you consider that this features as another record year! Within the video game business alone, CAPCOM sold 51.87 million units, which is over 5 million more units than last financial year.
The remarkable results featured within the documents were pumped up massively by the sales of Monster Hunter Wilds, which managed to bag up 10 million units in just a month of being available. Of course, other titles have contributed to the total margin. Solid sales from past entries in the series have aided this, such as Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter World – Iceborne, which bring the total units to 100 million!
With no major release being poised for Monster Hunter Wilds to boot, CAPCOM still expects to end the 2026 financial year as another record year for them with net sales expected to exceed 190,000 million yen and 73 million operating income yen, which is yet another successful increase on the back of this financial year’s outstanding result!
In my opinion, the love for Monster Hunter Wilds is deserved by a classic studio such as CAPCOM. The performance issues aside, the game’s success is amazing to see, and it’s mainly thanks to its open world that makes the gameplay intriguing!
