A New God Of War Game Coming Out This Year It’s Been Claimed!

Sony recently gave fans a look into the past and present with the 20th Anniversary of the God of War series. A thank you to the fans from the creators of old and new. Now, Santa Monica Studios wanted to share their support over the years by giving fans a gift. “All owners of God of War Ragnarök will get the Dark Odyssey collection at no additional cost! This collection includes a brand-new update to the Dark Odyssey appearance originally from God of War II, as well as various cosmetic armors, attachments, and appearances. Download the latest patch for God of War Ragnarök on PlayStation 4/5 or PC to get the collection”.

What’s next for God of War? It seems that we will find out shortly with a new entry in the series later this year.

Though we’ve heard mixed rumors for some time now, we are once again hearing more rumors, and if these said rumors are true, God of War will see a new entry in the series, “A side-story set in Greece” launching later this year, according to Giant Bombs, Jeff Brubb.

We’ve seen the God of War series start first in Greece with a focus on Greek Mythology, and with the recent addition of Norse Mythology with the reboot of God of War’s 2018 smash hit and continuation with Ragnarök. If you finished Ragnarök, (come on Scot) there were many ways Santa Monica could move with the future of God of War. One of my personal theories was to pass the torch over to Atreus as he continued to search for his purpose. This so-called “Side-Story” could very well be a testing ground PlayStation and Santa Monica are looking to do with the God of War series. Think of it like Insomiac’s Spider-Man series. Miles had his own game with Spider-Man: Miles Morales in 2020. I don’t think this will be the end of Kratos by any stretch of the imagination, but this might be the time Atreus spreads his wings and shows off that inner bear of himself on a new journey.

Let us know what you think this “Side-Story” with God of War could be.
