That’s right, in an email sent out to PlayStation Plus subscribers in Canada. It was brought to our attention that there will be a price increase for the service for the second time. The new price increase will be coming in the next few months.
The current price of subscription will change accordingly.
A 12-month PS Plus Essential subscription will change from $94.99 to $109.99, that would be an increase of $15.
A 12-month PS Plus Extra subscription will increase from $154.99 to $189.99, that would be an increase of $35.
Here are all the current benefits you get with your PlayStation Plus Extra subscription:
• Game Catalog – explore an ever-expanding library containing hundreds of games, ranging from PlayStation exclusives and huge franchises to innovative indies.
• Ubisoft+ Classics – play a curated selection of acclaimed games from Ubisoft.
• Essential benefits – enjoy monthly games*, online multiplayer, exclusive content packs for popular free-to-play games, exclusive PS Store discounts and cloud storage.
And finally the 12-month PS Plus Premium subscription will increase from $189.99 to $224.99, that would be an increase of $35.
The statement behind the decision to raise the PlayStation Plus subscription reads: “This is necessary to enable us to continue bringing you high-quality games and benefits.” The change of PS Plus subscription models will take effect on June 24th. “Any subscription changes you make prior to your next payment, such as upgrades, downgrades or buying additional time, will update your plan based on the new prices.”
