We Could See A Significant Price Increase For The Nintendo Switch 2

In the wake of the US Tariffs, one supplier warns fans that a significant price increase for the Nintendo Switch 2 is possible.

Nintendo revealed the Nintendo Switch 2 on April 2nd to fans with a current price of $449.99 USD and the next handheld iteration is set to launch on June 5th. Fans were almost able to pre-order a Switch 2 on April 9th, but Nintendo quickly pulled pre-orders after the reveal of Trump’s tariffs coming into effect.

Now, in a memo from a major Apple and Nintendo supplier as spotted by Nikkei Asia. They were informed about how game consoles produced in China are subject to a 145% tariff in the US. This places Nintendo in this category as the Nintendo Switch 2 is primarily made in China along with the PlayStation 5. The PlayStation 5 will already see a price increase in some regions.

Though tariffs have been placed on hold for the next 90 days, many are wondering what is next for their Nintendo Switch 2 orders? Will the price rise before we’re able to pick up the handheld device at the already expensive $449.99 USD or $700 CAD Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle console?
