The movie expands its cast now adding Sterling K. Brown, Rita Ora and John Kim who star alongside Henry Cavill.
Sterling K. Brown has been a familiar face over the last few years featured in many great movies & tv shows.
Rita Ora the well know singer is an odd choice. She has featured in tiny roles across a few movies. Most notably Detective Pikachu.
Up and coming actor John Kim will also be added to the cast. I do not know much about him though. His latest appearance in the tv recreation of ‘Cruel Intentions’ has garnered him a following. Funny enough I worked on that show as an on set carpenter.
The director Rawson Marshall Thurber known for his movie ‘Red Notice’ will be helming the Amazon project. He is a frequent collaborator of ‘ The Rock’.
He has been quoted at ‘Voltcon’ saying “I want to make sure that we stay true to the heart and the spirit of Voltron. In this film, we’re going to be introducing an entirely new generation of pilots. We’ve reimagined Voltron for the live-action world, but we’re going to stay true to … those iconic elements that you love, that I love.”
I personally don’t have high hopes for this project. It’s an odd choice for a new movie. As a millennial myself, Voltron was never the most popular of shows. It was always overshadowed by the ‘Power Rangers’.
I will be keeping on the project as it furthers along.
