Soulframe, the latest game from Digital Extremes, is currently in prelude alpha testing. Some lucky players, if you were able to snag a key during their Soulframe livestreams, or grab one during the open requesting phase, are able to jump into Prelude 9 right now. When joining the Prelude of Soulframe, keep note that your game is never safe. I recently had my game reset to bring forth new changes to the game, but, it’s all in part of accessing the game in early development. Here are some of the biggest changes currently coming to the game in Prelude 9.
Choose your Pact: There are 3 new pacts to choose from, Spirit, Courage or Grace
A New Weapon: Odiac, a new homing lightning and electric sheild
New Factions and Enclaves: You can side with the Silent Rose, Alca’s Children or Kith of Kings
Faction Tales: These tales allow you to repeat quests with branching paths and focus on building your loot
World Expansion & World Trees: The map is much larger and has been covered in fog. Reveal the map by finding world trees to open that area of the map
Bow Rework: The bow has been reworked for a better long range feel and impact
Idol’s Removed; The idols have been removed to return possibly in Prelude 10 with better buildcrafting
New Pact: Mora’s Hand
Loot Drops Reworked: Better loot drops
Definitely some nice additions for Prelude 9. However, DE wasn’t done there as they gave us a sneak peek into what we can expect in the Prelude 10 update.
We can look for Runes and Motes, a secondary weapon slot, new enemy types, armor, damage types and factions and faction tales refined over time.
Digital Extreme has certainly been hard at work on Soulframe and still has a lot left to go. Allowing us to dive into the preludes is an exciting way to gather fan feedback and help set the game in the right direction. We want to hear from you.
