TMNT Tactical Takedown: Master the Ultimate Ninja Strategy Adventure with the Heroes in a Half-Shell

Introduction to Tactical Takedown

From indie developer Strange Scaffold, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown is a turn-based strategy game I never thought I’d be so into. When I picked it up, I wasn’t sure what to expect, other than the fact that it’s a beat-’em-up style TMNT game with a tactical twist.

Nostalgic Appeal for TMNT Fans

If you love the 2003-era Ninja Turtles, you’ll absolutely enjoy these versions of Mikey, Raph, Donnie, and Leo. You’ll be kicking the Foot Clan’s butt as you strategically fight through each level, with new areas building in front of you while old ones collapse into the abyss, taking you with them if you’re not careful.

Engaging Gameplay Experience

To my surprise, I was blown away after a few sessions of losing, winning, and losing some more. After a handful of levels, I found my groove, especially with the funky menu music and the unique stage tracks composed by RJ Lake. The characters are presented in a tabletop-inspired style, which I found especially fun as a D&D lover.

Customization and Replayability

You can earn points to customize each character’s moves and even unlock new tracks to listen to using in-game currency. The story is on the shorter side—I beat it in about 7 hours—but since I lost a few times, that length may vary depending on your playstyle. Once I fully understood the buffs and debuffs tied to different abilities, the game became not only easier but also more enjoyable.

Final Verdict

Needless to say, if you’re a fan of the Heroes in a Half-Shell, this game is absolutely worth a try. I give this game a strong recommendation for TMNT fans and strategy enthusiasts alike.
