These New Xbox Updates Are Going to be Great!

This is one for Xbox fans and Xbox insiders alike! Xbox are releasing an upcoming Alpha Skip-Ahead preview ring update, and we are going to talk about what players can expect from this update. If you are a part of the Xbox Insider program, this will have already been loaded onto your console by now. The new feature is something quite special and is for sure one that I can’t wait to dig into and check it out. There’s an awesome new element added to the “Games and Apps” section under the full library tab in “My Games and Apps” that players have been requesting for years now, which is called “Free with Xbox”.

This will include any previously obtained trials and demos in the player’s library, and these will now appear here instead of the “Owned games” tab. This makes the experience much more streamlined and gives players a unique tab to select and view a category that otherwise takes up space amongst purchased and gifted titles. This saves us from scrolling endlessly in the owned games section, because lord knows it takes a long time to find stuff in there if you are an avid gamer with a sizable library.

Not only is there something to look forward to in the Games and App department, but there are also some fixes coming thanks to the many Xbox Insider reports that have been filed around some issues with dashboard functionality. Thanks to the hardworking engineers over at Microsoft, players are finally getting the fixes that need to be tweaked and carefully crafted. These upcoming bug fixes and quality of life improvements are for the current generation of Xbox consoles and won’t be readily apparent until players get their hands on the update.

As we know, not everything is smooth sailing at times when we boot up our consoles with a few mishaps here and there on the Home Screen and while finding and selecting titles from the store and various tabs. Sometimes it feels sluggish to scroll around, with hiccups in regards to searching titles, shopping sales, etc. The team over at Xbox has focused on stability and further honed the consistent performance by tweaking and fixing those little trips and falls we have encountered. It’s a “W” update from Xbox no matter how small it may seem to some!

Though it may seem to be a much smaller update than what we are used to, this will aid players in a much bigger way than they may originally realize. Providing streamlined features and smoother transitions when navigating the game library and store will cut back on time and frustration for all of us.

If you want to get more involved in voicing your concerns and sharing your opinions and insights, you can become an Xbox Insider by simply installing the Xbox hub app on your console (or PC) and agreeing to the terms and conditions proposed and boom, you are well on your way to becoming an insider. You can receive alpha builds and updates to apps before they’re released to the public, provide valuable feedback that is clearly used to make positive changes for the player base, and so on. Nowadays, who isn’t an insider, am I right? No? Okay well, get with the program people!
