One of the most notable features missing from the PlayStation Portal, which has now become a standard among PlayStation platform, is the ability to capture your gameplay.
This morning in a new blog post over on the PlayStation Blog, Shuzo Kikuchi, VP of Product Management, Sony Interactive Entertainment, filled us in on the new additional features coming to the PlayStation Portal. Among them is the ability to “sort games in the Cloud Streaming (Beta) catalog screen. There will be a new sort icon added to the top left corner, allowing you to sort games by: Recently added to PS Plus (default), Name, and Release date.”
We now also have the option to use the Create button, a feature that hasn’t been implemented until later today when the update goes live. We’ll be able to do the following with the create button now:
- Press once: Display the create menu
- Press and hold: Take a screenshot
- Press twice: Start/finish recording a video clip**
As with the PS5/PS5 Pro, any captured content will automatically be uploaded to the cloud and accessed from the PlayStation App. If you have been checking your phone for the past ten minutes, the PS Portal will now notify you that the system will be shutting down due to inactivity. Those are some of the highlights that will be added to the PlayStation Portal Update today.

Let us know if you have a PlayStation Portal and what you’re streaming in the comments.
