Let’s take a look back at one of the most fondly remembered consoles and some of its most iconic games.
I was 7 years old when my parents surprised me with this amazing console. I have nothing but appreciation for them for supplying me with this console and a slew of games too.
I believe they gave me 4-6 games but I only really remember 2, Grand Theft Auto 3 and Timesplitters.
What I still find utterly hilarious to this day is that I was 7 years of age and was supplied the most controversial game in existence at the time.
My poor parents were from a different time and didn’t understand age ratings on game covers. In both of their minds they thought all games were simple and fun like Tetris. How wrong they were and little did they know of my shenanigans of regaining health in my car.
But alas my mind was blown away by the graphics and the endless amount of freedom! Keep in mind I was playing games like Time Crisis, Tekken 1-3 and Pokémon on the Gameboy. The tech behind GTA 3 was baffling!
Thanks Mom and Dad!

The PlayStation 2 seemingly had an endless amount of iconic and amazing games that never seemed to end! Many franchises were born during this titanic era.
We were treated to iconic introductions to franchises like God Of War, Jak And Daxter, Sly Raccoon, The Getaway and many more!
It wasn’t just the exclusives that spoiled us, but developers took so many risks! Studios were not shut after just one bad game. It was a beautiful thing to witness, Sony was killing it on every front.
I fondly look back over classics like Simpsons Hit And Run, Area 51, Spartan Total Warrior and every Lord Of The Rings game! Two Towers and Return Of The King being standouts! They gave movie licensed games a foothold.

The timing of this is funny as I have recently taken a wonderful trip down nostalgia lane and plugged in my ps2! I have acquired a bunch of classics, many named above but other ones like The Third Age, Tekken Tag and Batman Begins.
So, thank you PlayStation 2 for providing me with so many cherishable memories that I still hold strongly today!
You were a real one.
