The Last of Us | The Last of Us season 2 is facing major review bombing!

That is correct, the second season of The Last of Us is facing some major backlash as of late because of their latest episode, “Day One”. This comes as a shock to some fans, but due to the backlash the show has already received, it’s now becoming less of a shock and more of an “okay, what’s next?”.

The latest episode has really grinded on the gears of viewers and many of the viewers are big fans of the hit game series The Last of Us part 1 and 2, because the show at times strays off the rails of what has been laid out. Now this isn’t me saying that creating your own path isn’t a bad thing, because giving a new twist for fans is definitely worth the watch! If we look at how The Walking Dead strayed from the comics, they did pretty well creating their own twists and turns within the TV show. However, for HBO, The Last of Us is grinding fans the wrong way for a specific reason.

The episode “Day One”, without spoiling anything for the viewers who are still deeply engrossed in the show, is to do with Ellie and Dina’s relationship. Viewers have expressed major disapproval of how the relationship has been depicted, and many viewers are within their own right review bombing the show, which is causing the TV show’s Metacritic and IMDB scores to plummet towards rock bottom.

While the show has a favourable critic rating of 81 on Metacritic, the user score (which is from us the viewers) has been absolutely dragged into the water with a 3.7 score rating, which means the fans are NOT loving what is going on right now.

With us coming to the end of the article, let us know what you think in the comment section below. Is the review bombing justified? Or should we cut the show some slack?
