The Biggest Games of 2025 So Far

The year has certainly started off hot! Big games have launched, and some with great success. What’s the biggest games of 2025 so far?

January may have been the slowest gaming month for most, but, certainly had some games release that fans couldn’t wait for. Final Fantasy Rebirth launched for PC players to rejoice along with a few other seemingly smaller titles. However, things really picked up in February when one game in particular was bumped ahead of schedule.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 took the early month of February by storm with 2 million copies sold in just 10 days. Fans couldn’t get enough of Warhorse Studios’ next journey to the medieval lands of Bohemia. A journey that would take hours to complete if you wanted to do everything. Personally, after 30 hours, I still hadn’t to reach the wedding. This was only the beginning of the year and would find some leaving Bohemia behind for Living Lands of Eora in Avowed. Avowed saw 5.9 players join Obsidian’s latest RPG in many thanks to Game Pass we would predict. Though Avowed launched in the middle of the month, it was truly the end of February that saw monstrous numbers, with Monster Hunter Wilds rising to the top.

Monster Hunter Wilds currently sits at the top of the list with 10 million copies sold and is currently the biggest game of 2025. Fans couldn’t get enough hunting monsters and grinding for new gear. Lucky enough, fans who may have already finished the game, Capcom has plans for more content on April 4th.

A rare sighting these days would be co-op games, and in particular, couch co-op games. Thanks to Hazelight Studios for believing in their passion for couch co-op, many believe Split Fiction could yet again place the studio in for the game of the year category. Split Fiction quickly sold 2 million copies in its first week and helped many of us fill that co-op itch we often don’t get to scratch anymore.

One title that may have worried fans and the studio alike was Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Assassin’s Creed Shadows has quickly become one of the best-selling Assassin’s Creed games in franchise history, just behind Valhalla. According to industry analyst, Mat Piscatella, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the second best-selling title of 2025, behind Monster Hunter Wilds and currently has reached over 3 million players. No official sales numbers have been given out just yet by Ubisoft.

2025 is still early, and we have yet to see what one of the more anticipated titles of the year will do for sales numbers. Many predict GTA 6 to climb to the top and reach a billion dollars in sales just in pre-orders. Breaking records before the game even launches.

We want to know what are you playing? What’s your most anticipated title of the year?
