There has been some recent buzz around Oblivion Remastered getting physical editions for Xbox and PS5. This has been made public by UK gaming retailers, with The Game Collection confirming the anticipated October 2025 release, that the disc and box copies are coming!
Following recent concerns about physical editions such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and DOOM: The Dark Ages containing next-to-no data on their actual discs, fans have been questioning whether the game disc will contain much of the data or will require a major download anyway. However, there has been no formal confirmation as yet by Bethesda or gaming retailers in regard to this concern.
Since its digital launch on Xbox and PlayStation back in April, a clutch of updates has been released for Oblivion Remastered, which have seemingly ironed out any major issues and annoyances that have been occurring, apart from the fun ones that were left in on purpose. One of these more notable issues concerned the flaws in framerate and save data corruption among a few graphical bugs that become more prevalent the longer the player spends on a save; The more saves made, and time sunk into that playthrough, the more issues became present. However, update 1.2 is in beta now on PC, which should come to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at some point in the near future. If the entire game is loaded onto the physical editions, one would hope that they will be the most updated version of the game.

So far, the digital version of the title costs $49.99 / £49.99, so the disc version of the title should be around the same ballpark figure. With Oblivion Remastered gaining a physical version, one would hope that any issues experienced in the digital editions will have been resolved by release.
