We are so back. Star Wars Battlefront 2 has hit its highest concurrent player count in over four years on Steam, and solely with Steam numbers, this isn’t counting players who have picked this up on console! While it is not very clear why the game has picked its popularity back up, I’m so so here for it. Battlefront 2 is amazing! Streamers and Content Creators seem to be spending more time on the title and posting a lot about it!
Currently, as we speak, the game has hit a 9777 peak of concurrent players in the past 24 hours! This, by the way, is a number that Steam has not seen in over 4 years for the title. The game hit Steam’s stores in June 2020 and after a peak of 10,489 players in Jan 2021, the game dropped to a steady 5000 concurrent players per day (which is a very good number still).

I do believe that the title may have picked up traction because of the recently successful Andor coming into the Star Wars universe, and with season 2 doing really well, I’m more inclined to say people are favouring a return to the Battlefront titles! For a video game that was released in 2017, by the way, the visuals are still insane!
With fans wanting another entry to the series, who knows! Could we see a Respawn Entertainment Battlefront as they have a lowly Apex which is grinding to a halt? DICE and a ton of other EA studios all gas no brakes on Battlefield right now, so, we need to remain hopeful that EA will see the success that Battlefront 2 is having with players again and start putting pen to paper for ideas!
Let us know what you think nevertheless! Do you think popular Star Wars series have to do with the rise of players? Or do you think people hit the nostalgia train every once in a while? Comment down below!
