Splitgate originally launched in 2019 and it was well-received with what felt fresh due to a mix of a Halo feel with Portals. It was a great cross-over that fans enjoyed. However, it quickly fell off with a lack of continued content and the needed loop to keep players returning.
Now, nearly six years later 1047 Games are back and are ready to launch their Open Beta for the newly revamped title. Splitgate 2 will see many new changes to its core gameplay experience, with an arena FPS shooter and more than 15 maps and a new Multi-Team Mayhem mode. 24-Player Onslaught with 2 new maps, Drought and Fracture. Compete in an all-out battle across massive maps and more than 10 other game modes that 1047 Games hope will keep players coming back for more.
Splitgate will have its Open Beta on May 22nd and will be free-to-play when it arrives on PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Yes, that means PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One as well, with full crossplay support across all platforms.
