Resurrection: A Biohazard Story | A Nostalgic Horror Series by Fans for Fans

As a lifelong fan of the Resident Evil/Biohazard franchise and a longtime fan and supporter of the Residence of Evil Youtube channel as well as their dedicated and passionate online community, I personally couldn’t be more excited for the team’s highly anticipated return to expertly crafting stories within the framework of the world that we fans of classic survival horror cherish so dearly.

Resurrection: A Biohazard Story will be a four-part series coming in at a run time of around an hour, rather than a short film like their previous crowdfunded success The Keeper’s Diary: A Biohazard Story. This new project will reunite classic fan-favorite characters from the games to contend with a biohazard outbreak in Mexico. According to the Residence of Evil, the series promises to “explore old memories, new threats, and revisit a nightmare that refuses to stay dead.”

If it’s anything like their previous project, it will certainly feature excellent make-up, costumes, props, set design, and CGI that really help bring the story to life. The team’s attention to detail and passion for presenting a faithful adaptation of the characters and events from the games in their previous work is what makes this project so exciting.

With a script written by the unquestionably talented Adi Attavane and directed by visionary creative Andrew Saullo (the writer, director, and producer of The Keeper’s Diary: A Biohazard Story), it is certain to be a treat for fans of the games and the ROE Squad alike. A host of recognizable faces and voices will also be featured in the project including many of the live-action cast from the original 1996 Resident Evil game such as Charlie Kraslavsky as Chris Redfield, Greg Smith as Barry Burton, Linda as Rebecca Chambers, and Eric Pirius as everybody’s favorite villain Albert Wesker. There will also be many returning voice actors from the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil Remake, and more, including Pablo Kuntz, Joe Whyte, and Ward Sexton.

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Charlie Kraslavsky who will be reprising his role from the 1996 Resident Evil live-action scenes as my personal favorite character Chris Redfield, and he was kind enough to share some of his thoughts and experiences with me about his time working with the team on The Keeper’s Diary: A Biohazard Story, as well as his excitement for the upcoming Resurrection: A Biohazard Story.

He shared a lot of great insight that further elevated my already eager anticipation for the project, and when asked about the experience and if he had anything to share with the fans, he had this to say:

“I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Andrew Saullo, writer/director/producer of the fan-made film, ‘The Keeper’s Diary, A Biohazard Story’. It is all thanks to him that I was able to reunite with my cast mates from RE1 Biohazard, Linda, Eric, and Greg. I am very proud of our short film, ‘The Keeper’s Diary, A Biohazard Story’, which was produced with a very small budget, and a very small cast and crew. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into that project. Our next project, ‘Resurrection, A Biohazard Story’, is much more ambitious, and requires a much larger cast and crew, and therefore a larger budget. It is a four part web series that reunites your favorite characters from the original game, in the present day.

It’s going to be so much fun working with Linda, Eric, and Greg again, as well as Joe Whyte. None of this would be possible without the support of JJ and his ROE Squad, especially Adi Attavane who knocked it out of the park with her script. This will be a web series made by fans for the fans of the series, who have been longing for a faithful live-action adaptation, and it stars four of the original actors from RE1 Biohazard, released on PS1 in 1996. It should be mentioned that this is a not-for-profit, fan made production, and we have no affiliation with any corporate entertainment entities. It is purely a passion project. Our love letter to the loyal fans who have been so passionate about this franchise for almost 30 years. For this reason, we have altered some of the names and organizations that appear in the story, but it will be a story that feels like it could exist seamlessly in the current RE Universe.

If all goes well with our Indiegogo crowdfunding, which launches on May 1st, we plan to film it towards the end of this summer, and release it in 2026. I can’t wait to get started! If you are passionate about Resident Evil, and yearning for a faithful adaption, please consider supporting our project. There will be many exclusive perks available.”
