Red Dead Redemption 2 Remaster Rumors Heat Up

Red Dead Redemption 2, the game that felt like it was released an aeon ago, and fans such as myself still want that next-generation upgrade, like how GTA V got the multiple release treatment. The Cowboy Adventure was released in 2018 on Xbox One and PS4 alike. However, there have been reports that an apparent “remaster” is in the works according to various rumours cropping up.

As we all know, many of us expected the title to have a re-release in the next generations, much like how GTA V did, how it was born for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and worked its way all the way through to the modern generation, and still making advancements in graphics and details all the way too. But since the original release of RDR2, nothing has come and people have been left hanging on to hopes that it will one day poke its head above the grass. Now it is claimed that in response to a post made on X (formerly Twitter), NateTheHate2, the same NateTheHate who has a good record of reporting information on video games before they’re officially announced, said that the desired ports of the much-loved title “exist”.

“Yes they exist,” Nate wrote on X. He continued to say, “I have no update on the timing for release.” With this being said, of course, take things with a grain of salt, much like any rumour, even if they are from big leakers who get things right, such as the one and only Dusk Golem for the Resident Evil rumours, it can be a hit-and-miss game. However, how good would it be though? To get a next gen upgrade for the legendary Arthur Morgan! It would complete life as we know it.

However, it was earlier this year claimed that Rockstar’s western great was coming to Nintendo Switch 2 as part of Take-Two’s wider support of Nintendo’s new hand-sized machine. This would explain the rumours of it having a wider release on the consoles such as Xbox Series X/S and PS5, because if the Switch 2 gets a port, then that would mean Rockstar is looking to port the game to the same playing field that the Switch plays on.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was, if you can remember that far back, released in October 2018 for Xbox One and PS4, and then eventually brought to PC in November 2019, and with this former Rockstar boss Dan Houser said that he thought RDR2 was the best game he worked on at the studio. This is big talk, of course, as this is the same man that worked on powerhouse games such as Bully, Red Dead 1 & 2, Max Payne, Midnight Club: Los Angeles and many of the GTA titles. However, Houser left Rockstar to start a new company known as Absurd Ventures

Are you hopeful for a return from our dear friend Arthur? As a big fan of the series and a faithful of the second game, I hope we get a next-gen port for Red Dead Redemption 2 as it stole the show during its release and deserves that scale and polish which brings it into the more modern era.
