Mortal Kombat 2 is going to be more violent and bloodier than the previous film!
The MPA (motion picture association) has announced that the sequel is rated R for “strong bloody violence and gore, and language”. The first film was rated for strong bloody violence and language. So the addition of gore is a good sign.
Lets have a chat about the first one, I have a love hate relationship with it. I was delighted to have a new MK movie back on the silver screen. However, I was immensely worried about another videogame movie adaptation.
The stellar casting of Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi better known as Scorpion was a dream come true! He is an amazing actor that can bring the mysticism and gravitas needed for a live action Scorpion and he did! Unfortunately, he barely had any screen time.

Cole is an original character made specifically for this movie and frankly they could have pulled anyone else from the mythos.
It seems Cole is headlining the upcoming sequel but we have a multitude of additional actors including fan favouite Karl Urban who will play the titular role of Johnny Cage!
I truly hope we get more screen time for Scorpion, Sub-Zero/Noob in this sequel and less of Cole. By the elder gods, please bring back Kano! He was perfect and utterly hilarious!
