It’s the year of us heading to Feudal Japan! Next up, Shadow of the Road, an upcoming turn-based cRPG from Owlcat Games and Another Angle Games They will be allowing some of us to jump into the fight with their Open Alpha Playtest. You can request access to Shadow of the Road’s alpha on their Steam page.
Shadow of the Road is set in feudal Japan, amid a fierce rivalry between Tokugawa Shogunate and Emperor Mutsuhito. With the world of steampunk technology and Japanese mythology, players will lead a diverse group where each decision made will help shape your destiny. Master each character’s abilities to overcome the tides of war.
The goal of the Open Alpha Playtest is to give players a look into the world of Shadow of the Road and their character upgrade system. Unlocking new abilities will be key to becoming successful in battle. You’ll have access to 4 playable characters, several battles to encounter and, of course, one final boss fight to test your build and to see if your strategy will pay off. We’ll also get a look at a few side quests as well.
