Helldivers 2 | Developer Addresses Game’s Future

Arrowhead Game Studios ‘CEO has put fans’ minds at ease by saying that the studio is focusing on Helldivers 2 with no let up, and it plans to stay that way for a long time. This comes after there has been speculation about Arrowhead potentially dropping the game, as Jorjani mentioned a new project that the developer behind the scenes has named Game 6, but the CEO (Shams Jorjani) has been very clear that people shouldn’t worry about the new project impacting Helldivers 2.

Helldivers 2 grabbed gamers’ attention and held that firm in the spotlight in 2024, which delivered a breath of fresh air to some players! The original Helldivers held a steady light which aided with key concepts in the making of Helldivers 2 However, the second title moved into a new territory with its own unique features. In Helldivers 2, players join a team of Helldivers which are tasked with protecting Super Earth, a fictional futuristic version of the planet we live on, by battling it out with alien creatures, conquering planets and gathering new gear to keep the mission alight. The title has changed in better and better ways since its launch and aims to stay on target by offering fresh content despite rumours of abandonment.

CEO Jorjani recently spoke with fans on the title’s official discord server after the latest release of the update for Helldivers 2, which revealed that Arrowhead has big plans for the future and is exploring a new project that we previously spoke about named Game 6. This worried fans. However, Jorjani stated “Keep playing and buying super credits ” and the developer will “keep it going” as a cemented statement to keep Helldivers 2 floating for a long time.

Whilst yes, last summer Helldivers 2 hit a major rough patch, one which CEO Jorjani even admitted to. The studio worked on getting the title back to its glory and turned it around, which now sees the game thriving in its own special space, which in turn has relit the flames at Arrowhead, and they aim to deliver plenty of exciting content for us fans!

The new project previously mentioned will aim to be approached in a “smarter way”, according to CEO Jorjani, as it will be 100% funded by Arrowhead Studios. While no big details have been revealed, the studio wants people to know not to be worried about this for now and to stay excited for more content coming to Helldivers 2.

Let us know what you think in the comments below! Do you think Helldivers 2 has a massive future still? Or do you think that Arrowhead could turn its head at some point?
