Halo Infinite Sequel | Halo: The Edge of Dawn Novel Coming in December

Players are quickly approaching four years since they last suited up in the powerful armor of Master Chief, Spartan John-117 and engaged in the newly formatted open-world combat of Halo Infinite. Taking the battle to the Banished on the enemy occupied Zeta Halo, Master Chief and his growing band of allied soldiers, pilots, and assorted aliens and AI constructs are pitted against some of the franchise’s most fearsome foes to date, with a narrative that unfortunately felt for many to be painfully incomplete.

Fortunately for fans of the series, the story of Master Chief has not yet reached its conclusion as a new sequel is releasing soon, though perhaps not in the fashion fans of the video games would expect. The sequel will come in the form of the upcoming novel Halo: The Edge of Dawn from long-time Halo author Kelly Gay. First announced at the start of the year with nothing more than a title and the confirmation that it will focus on Master Chief, the book was recently revealed to be a much more connected story that interweaves with the video game canon.

Halo Studios (formerly known as 343 Industries) indicated that the narrative of the upcoming novel will be a direct follow-up sequel to the story campaign of Halo Infinite‘s cast of characters as they continue their fight against the banished. The story will also tie in with elements from Kelly Gay’s previous novel Halo: The Rubicon Protocol, allowing for both the literary and gaming narratives to organically meld together into a cohesive plotline.

Here is the official description of what awaits in the Master Chief’s next adventure with links to the wiki:

2560. After eliminating War Chief Escharum and sending the Banished leadership into chaos, the Master Chief continues the fight on Zeta Halo, accompanied by his new AI companion and their loyal pilot Fernando Esparza.

“As Spartan-117 searches for scattered allied forces, a young combat medic—tortured and imprisoned for months by the Banished and the enigmatic Harbinger—may hold the key to unlocking deeper mysteries within this ancient ringworld. But every step towards answers is haunted by the sinister and elusive blademaster Jega ‘Rdomnai, who is hellbent on vengeance…”

The Master Chief’s fight against the Banished will continue in Halo: Edge of Dawn this December and can be pre-ordered here!
