IT’S YOUR LUCKY DAY! In this exciting new horror experience brought to us by Fume Software alongside Future Friends Games, you take control of a contestant featured in the Mr Wonder competition. This is a crossover-style game set around the theme of MrBeast x Squid Game gone horror, where you are actively trying to survive in what looks to be a playful yet dangerous competition.
As seen in the trailer above, the contestants are subjected to challenges resembling those of the famous content creator MrBeast. However, they are presented in the form of Mr Wonder, a rogue, brutal content creator hosting a violent and torturous completion. The opposite of what we would see in the real-life scenario of our friend Jimmy. Players look to solve puzzles and escape losing their lives to have the chance to win a million dollars! Win? You take it all. Lose? You lose everything.
In this horror experience, which gives us the polar opposite of the fun challenges we see in real life, we see a dark, gritty, yet almost cute environment where you could lose your life at any given moment. This title really intrigues me as it gives us a harsh look at what could happen in a grim setting compared to the happy-go-lucky one we see on YouTube, and that pulls me in close, as I think it has a unique premise built on what is supposed to be a grand moment for a contestant, turned sour seeing death and decay.
Ensuring we get the full horror experience, we can expect to see engaging puzzles with lethal intent, a studio where you, as the player, must navigate your way through a seemingly endless labyrinth at the aptly named labyrinthine studios, and can you really uncover who and what Mr Wonder is really about? The team over at Fume Software invite you to take this challenge… If you dare.
Speaking of Fume Software, they are a solo developer whose passion for horror runs deep, and every project they attempt is hit with dedication to delivering a haunting yet eager drawing experience. Mr Wonder is the developer’s first outing, looking to become a stalwart of the horror genre, and we welcome them with open arms as us horror fans are keen to see what any new hand has to offer us!
Mr Wonder has an official demo arriving on Steam on the 27th of August, so make sure to get your name down to experience this unique and intriguing step into the darkness, as this will mark Fume Software’s first game on the market. With a new developer comes new ideas, so I’m excited to see how this game does upon release, and we can hopefully get more from the team at Fume.
Does this game have you excited guys? Honestly, I think the idea is unique and gives me Five Nights at Freddy‘s vibes with how the game looks and with the unique design of the Mr Wonder bear. Any horror game is welcomed in my book. As a keen horror fan myself, I’m always happy to see what developers can do to stake their claim on the horror title, as the genre is a very harsh one to get into. All I can say is, bring it on Mr Wonder, because this contestant is ready to win a million dollars!
