Fallout Amazon Prime Show | Story is Planned for at Least 5 Seasons

Season 2 of the Amazon Prime show Fallout based in the universe of the popular Fallout role playing video game series has just wrapped production last week, which means it may be a while before it releases for fans to enjoy. However, speaking during a panel at the recent Comic Con Liverpool, Aaron Moten (the actor who plays Brotherhood of Steel Squire Maximus) shared that he was informed his character’s story isn’t planned to end for at least another three or four seasons.

“[I was told] when I sat down to do the series, that we would have a starting point, and they gave me the end point, and that end point hasn’t changed, but it is Season 5-6, for the end point. We’ve always known that we were going to take our time with the development of our characters.” Moten explained in this clip posted on the Fallout show’s Reddit page.

As exciting as that may be for fans of the show, it doesn’t mean the show will stay in production for that many seasons, as it could be canceled due to any number of reasons both critical and financial. However, with 17 Primetime Emmy nominations, and a current critic score of 94% and viewer score of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, it seems likely that if the show maintains or improves on the quality of the first season, it should see many season renewals going forward.

Walton Goggins (the actor who plays Cooper “The Ghoul” Howard) also indicated previously this year that season 2 of the show will be much better than the first, stating in a red carpet interview with Deadline:

“We’re in the middle of filming it right now,” “We’ve been at it since November, and I can tell you that I thought season 1 was extraordinary, personally I was very pleased with it.” “This blows it out of the water, you know what these writers have done and the artisans that have come together to tell this story,” “It’s really going to be something, and I can’t wait for people to see it. We’re working really hard to make that happen.”

To further hype the next season, it was announced that Macaulay Culkin is also going to be appearing in season 2 of Fallout, reportedly playing a “crazy genius-type character” in a recurring role, which has led many fans of the video game series to begin speculating about a Fallout: New Vegas‘ Arcade Gannon style character, or perhaps even a return of the Legion-opposing Follower of the Apocalypse himself.

As a fan of both the video games and the show, I’m pretty excited to see what they do with the wacky cast of characters and the rapidly evolving story in season 2, and I’m optimistic that the popularity of the show will incite a revival of the video game series as well: Here’s lookin’ at you New Vegas remastered.
