A new survival experience is on the way this May. Will you be heading to Arrakis? Dune Awakening will be setting the bar high, with an open-world multiplayer survival game and what Funcom is saying is “on a massive scale.” I was able to get a behind-the-scenes look at the game last year at Summer Game Fest, and what I saw was very impressive. Will it be everything I’m hoping for? I love a good loop of survival, loot, craft and building. Something Funcom is very good at. Did you play Conan? They understand the formula well, so when I saw what Funcom was doing with Dune Awakening, I knew this was one I had to keep an eye on, and so should you. Dune Awakening launches on May 20th.
How does Dune Awakening move away from what we currently know of the Dune series? Paul Atreides was never born, Lady Jessica gave birth to a girl, and Duke Leto Atreides is alive. This certainly spins the story around for us to set out on our own path instead of following along with the books and movies. A few highlights to take note of; there will be optional DLC’s, NO subscription models and the game will receive free updates, new content drops, features and expansions. Music to my ears!
