After the announcement around the end of last year, there weren’t a lot of useful updates about the upcoming Destiny game, until now! Destiny: Rising has not only gotten an action-packed early gameplay trailer, but fans have also been treated to the release date.
Bungie’s sci-fi RPG first-person shooter is going mobile with the help of a development partnership with NetEase Games, the company behind such hits as Marvel Rivals and Diablo Immortal, among a deep catalog of other popular mobile titles. NetEase Games have just announced the release date for iOS and Android is slated for August 28th, which has come to a great shock and pleasure for many eager fans who have speculated that the game wouldn’t likely be launching until 2026 or later.
In the new trailer, fans were treated to a look at PVP and PVE battles and game modes that are set in an “alternate timeline before the events of the original game,” which means that even players who aren’t familiar with the lore of the series can jump in and enjoy it regardless of prior knowledge. With that said, there will be enough returning features and lore to enthuse even the most persnickety of fans who have voiced their opinions in regard to wanting a sequel rather than a prequel.

The game promises to feature single player, cooperative, and competitive multiplayer modes, complete with various weapon loadouts, rare gear builds, and “tons of exciting loot to gather for your characters.” Players will be given the opportunity to play a fully customizable Lightbearer named Wolf, but will also have the choice of playing as familiar and beloved characters from the Destiny universe such as Iron Lord Jolder and Ikora Rey, among others.
NetEase is holding a pre-registration event to hype up prospective players and returning fans alike, featuring special unlockable bonuses that will carry over to the official launch in August. The event will allow players to unlock rewards for each milestone they reach as a community, with the final incentives unlocking a 10 million milestones achieved.

Get excited, gear up, charge your mobile devices, and get back in the fight!
