Marvel’s Blade, the game that feels like it was announced ages ago, the title that feels lost in the history books, appears to have had light shed on its case with a finding of a report by the French Committee of Finance about the budget of French video game companies. The very intriguing part about this is the mention of two titles, specifically Star Wars Eclipse from Quantic Dream with a 100-million-euro budget and Arkane’s new title, which we know is Blade, being at a 94-million-euro budget.
With this report featuring Arkane and more to the point, their new game Blade, we are hoping that the title, which was announced 18 months back, will in all rights succeed with such a liberating budget! It has all the interest from die-hard fans of Marvel and nostalgia-driven movie fans who are still blood-soaked from the club scene in the first Blade movie. We are all hoping the studio over at Arkane Lyon will impress and are eagerly waiting to get our hands on the game!
Arkane Lyon have a bit of an uphill battle ahead as they look to improve their catalogue, as Arkane Studios as a whole have been releasing games that have lately fallen short of fan expectations, such as Deathloop and Redfall. With Blade having a lot of unique lore and a lot of carnage to it, the studio over in France can’t fail here? Can they?
We are, however, keeping a close eye on this title and studio in particular, and this is because of the layoffs that many studios surrounding Xbox have been experiencing. With Bethesda following suit and closing the door on many projects partnered with Xbox, we are literally begging on our knees for the game to go forward and eventually release in all its gory glory.
