The Battlefield v Call of Duty War may be back in all its glory as we have seen Battlefield 6 poke the bears with its new live action trailer featuring some serious stars. The trailer, which launched recently, featured a crack team which was hosted by Zac Efron, Jimmy Butler, Morgan Wallen and Paddy Pimblett sporting combat gear, walking in slow-motion towards the camera. Zac Efron eagerly says, “We’re here to do one thing and one thing…” before the team gets blown up by a missile.
An elite squad of soldiers then emerges from the smoke and rubble, asking “Who was that?” with another teammate replying, “It doesn’t matter,” before continuing forward. The full-fleshed-out trailer then reveals a full-scale, concrete jungle battle, showcasing the upcoming titles’ gadgets and destruction. If you aren’t with me just yet, watch the trailer for this below!
The start of the trailer, which you can see above, throws down some digs at Call of Duty, which, in traditional times, has used celebrities in the past, and up until this trailer, with Paddy Pimblett announcing this feature beforehand on socials, fans thought “oh not another gimmick,” but gimmick no more, as it featured a personalised shot towards the “too big to fail” title, which has in the past days been reeling back its planned skins with a spokesperson announcing the studio behind Black Ops 7 would be cancelling planned skins for the game to be more “grounded”.
With this being set in motion, it is very clear that the old FPS war is back on, and with both games announcing big strides, it’s hard to overlook how close the topic of conversation could be. However, this year, for me personally, Battlefield 6 has my vote.

Battlefield 6 is poised to release on October 10th on the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC, with Call of Duty coming on the 14th of November to Xbox Series X/S (first party included in Game Pass), PlayStation 5 and PC alike.
This year is one of the first years that Call of Duty has posed a real threat to their position, with Battlefield really committing to listening to feedback from the fans, it’s hard to ignore Battlefield this time round, and we could also see the acclaimed title strike out its opposition this year if everything goes to plan.
