Atomfall Reaches 1 Million Players In Its First Weekend

Rebellion has stretched their sniping wings for the post-apocalyptic quarantine zone of Atomfall, and players are eating it up, or drinking a lot of tea!

Atomfall launched last week and was a massive hit with players over the weekend, hitting 1.5 million players surviving the 1950’s post-apocalyptic setting of the inspired Windscale nuclear incident in northern England. Atomfall is Rebellions’ most successful launch in company history.

“We are delighted that so many players are enjoying Atomfall,” said Jason Kingsley CBE, CEO and co-founder of Rebellion. “To have surpassed the 1 million players in such a short space of time speaks volumes for the creativity and dedication of the entire team here at Rebellion. Our size and stability mean that we can take risks to create something as different as Atomfall. Happily, that risk is paying off.”

“We are a British company, and the game is a true reflection of that. Not only is it set in the lush, beautiful countryside but Atomfall also draws inspiration from so many classic British books, films and TV series,” continued Jason.

“We hope that players continue to enjoy exploring the world of Atomfall and are looking forward to future content for the game.”

Apparently Atomfall players are relentless, with 316, 000 players killing the scientist right at the beginning of the game. You joined the ranks of our very own Scot Savage in the brutality of that poor scientist. There have been 3.7 million kills with a cricket bat, but it’s not all about the killing. 4 million pasties and 300,000 cups of tea were consumed during your journey throughout the quarantine zone.

If you haven’t been one of the 1.5 million players to jump into Atomfall over the weekend and are still skeptical about the game. You can check out our review of Atomfall here to help make your decision on whether you want to kill that poor scientist. What is wrong with you people?
