According to Tom Henderson, sources tell him that Ubisoft’s upcoming DLC Claws of Awaji for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is currently targeting a September release.
Those familiar with the plans of the DLC say Ubisoft’s new strategy of focusing on major IP’s doesn’t currently affect the release of Claws of Awaji and its development. However, there is a possibility of pushing the DLC plans back to October. Players can look to expect about 10 hours of gameplay with Claws of Awaji with a new storyline, new weapon types, skills, abilities and gear when the DLC releases.
Sources also explained to Tom that Shadows co-op mode, codenamed “League,” is still in development with plans to release next year. It seems we’ll be able to play as Naoe and Yasuke, plus others. Saying the storyline will run deeper and expand further than just our two main protagonists.
That isn’t everything currently planned for Assassin’s Creed, however. With the recent rumors of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Remake still on the way and plans for the codename “Invictus”, Assassin’s Creed multiplayer looks to make a return. An 18-player multiplayer game is still in development, something fans haven’t seen since Black Flag. There is currently no news on a release date for either title.
