It’s been a hot minute since Rockstar revealed GTA VI to the world. Many of us were blown away with excitement and the possibilities of the unknown opportunities that will be in-store for us with GTA VI. Could this be the ultimate playground? After the first and only trailer of GTA VI, which released back on December 4th of 2023, nearly a year-and-a-half ago. It’s certainly been keeping fans asking, when, will we see another peek into the world of Leonida? Rockstar’s take of Florida. Former Rockstar developer suggests a second trailer may not be needed at all.
Obbe Vermeij, former Rockstar technical director, once again took to X to suggest his opinion on releasing another trailer for GTA VI, stating:
“If it was my call I wouldn’t release any additional trailers. There is more than enough hype around VI and the element of surprise is going to make the release only bigger as an event.”
Obbe had been with Rockstar North throughout some of the most iconic GTA titles in the series. He was a technical director at Rockstar North from 2001 to 2009 and helped set the path forward with the series and, after finishing GTA Chinatown Wars, Obbe left to create his own studios.
Needless to say, he may have some insight on ‘IF’, We truly need another GTA VI trailer. However, fans are likely to disagree with their hopes of another trailer and the want of seeing something at all about the game. Which also proves Obbe’s point: Rockstar doesn’t need to release anything at all about GTA VI. What if Rockstar were to stealth drop GTA VI?
