Apex Legends | Legends no more?

Apex Legends is expected to decline further into a rough patch as EA announced in a recent financial results update, that EA are in fact anticipating a big drop in net bookings for the Battle Royale in Financial Year 2026, which puts forward a big question mark for the title in the future.

A long time has passed, and Apex Legends has been right near the top of how a battle royale should look in terms of live service, providing fans of the title with plenty of updates and new gear dropping to the game. However, in recent times, the game has seen a downward spiral which could show that EA and Respawn alike are potentially pulling away from the game in what seems to be a cultural move at the studio.

In a recent financial update as previously mentioned, EA confirmed that they anticipate that there could be a 40% year-after-year decline in net bookings for Apex Legends, which indicates a downward spiral indeed. In the last year alone, Apex has stared directly in the face of adversity and things don’t seem to be looking up and there is a growing pressure for the title and the devs to deliver. there has been a lot of internal hope for the game to keep delivering on expectations, but as mentioned in the last year has been missing the target.

EA mentioned quite some time ago that Apex Legends should stand firm for at least 20 years in total. However, we aren’t even halfway through our tenure with the game, which comes as a huge shame as the Titanfall universe, as of right now, is in a tough spot with Respawn not actively rushing to develop another Titanfall instalment.

Coming to the end of our article, do you think that Apex Legends is in a rut? Or do you believe that Respawn Entertainment is actually delivering? Let us know in the comments below and, as always, see you soon!
