Rumors of a potential Nintendo Direct were stoked earlier today when the company scheduled maintenance on the eShop for July 30. Now, the speculation has paid off: Nintendo has officially announced a Partner Direct Showcase for tomorrow, July 31, 2025, at 6:00 A.M. PT / 9:00 A.M. ET.
As usual, Partner Directs focus on third-party publishers, not Nintendo’s internal development teams. Still, the announcement is exciting, especially since, aside from big names like Metroid Prime 4, we know surprisingly little about what’s on the horizon for the recently launched Nintendo Switch 2.

Could this be when we finally see more of The Duskbloods, FromSoftware’s ambitious multiplayer exclusive for Switch 2? Or maybe, just maybe, the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong will resurface at long last. Either way, I’m excited to see what great games they reveal tomorrow!
Despite record-breaking sales, the Switch 2 launch has felt strangely quiet. The typical buzz and fanfare surrounding a new Nintendo console haven’t quite materialized.

Even though Mario Kart World has been generally well received, it didn’t shake the industry the way Breath of the Wild did back in 2017. It’s fun, but some fans feel the innovation just wasn’t there. Regardless, it will be interesting to see what Nintendo’s third-party partners can bring to the table to boost player enjoyment!
On the flip side, Donkey Kong Bananza launched to widespread acclaim and may finally be the tentpole title that pushes hesitant gamers toward picking up the Switch 2. With the console now in more homes than ever, this Partner Direct could be Nintendo’s moment to reignite that signature magic and give us all a better sense of what’s next for the beloved company.
And yes, if you’ve made any bets on Silksong finally getting a release date, I hope they pay off soon!
