Xbox has done it again. They have opened their communication channels and listened to the feedback from their loyal Xbox Insiders and the wider community to introduce several new features which enhance and simplify your gaming experience on PCs and handhelds. The aggregated game library, cross-device play history and updated app functionality, which is looking to bring the players more control over where you play and how quickly you can get your gaming fix!
Firstly, let’s dive into what the “aggregated gaming library” is. This nifty little library will bring all your gaming collection together which shows your installed games from multiple storefronts on the PC, which include the Xbox library, Xbox Game Pass, Battle.net and other notable storefronts! This makes it all that much easier to gain access to your games in one singular place, whether that be on your PC or your selected handheld device, yeah were looking at you guys with your Xbox ROG Ally’s. Along with this, when you install a game from a supported PC storefront, it will automatically appear within the “My Library” section in the Xbox PC app, as well as the “Most Recent” sidebar, so you can hop right back into your favourite title, with one simple click.

A small side note for you guys who like a simplified, easy to look at library. Xbox is giving you the option within the app on PC to have a personal feel to it as you can choose how your game library will look and feel. If this is up your street, the following steps are to – select your profile picture, head to settings, go to library & extensions, find the storefronts listed and then toggle any of those listings you’d prefer not to see. Boom, easy, controllable library right at your fingertips.
Thought I was done? Hell no. Within the new update lies one in the “My Apps” section. This will allow your players to gain access to third party apps and storefronts way easier than before. This new tab is located right in your library, which ties right into the aggregated gaming library, so you can find, download and fire up those games from different locations all without switching between apps or your desktop! Pretty neat Xbox… Pretty neat.
I know what you’re asking, “But Mr. Author, what about the handhelds you mentioned?” Well, here it is. Simply pick up and play. Coming later in September, your cloud-playable titles and play history will shadow you across all realms (devices). And to find out which of your games will be following you via the cloud, select the “cloud playable” filter in “My games” to view your catalogue of supporting titles.

Once this feature becomes available, look for the “Jump back in” list on the Home Screen of your powerful medium-sized friend on the console, your powerful little friend on the handheld and your powerful big friend on the PC! Simply pick up and play right where you left off and enjoy your gaming experience, literally anywhere you go, at home, at work, on the toilet, in the street, hell on Mount Everest, wherever you fancy playing, boot up and dive in.
