Battlefield 6 Deploys Worldwide as Beta Hype Hits Critical Mass

As the Beta weekend came to a close, many fans around the world were jumping from their seats in joy as we have finally been gifted a revitalization of the core Battlefield experience that fans originally fell in love with. The Beta showcased fluid gunfights, destruction en masse and chaotic all-out warfare, all blending together for a wildly fun experience for the avid or even brand-new franchise fan! I beg EA to keep going with their anchor down here because the stars have finally re-aligned for the blockbuster series.

Speaking of fan anticipation, the Beta saw over half a million players gearing up, loading their weapons and getting ready for battle; but wait soldier, there’s more! With another beta weekend set to open the gates of global conflict back up to the public, it looks like the team at Battlefield Studios are preparing a new map and modes for players to get their boots wet in during the next open weekend. Happy Hunting guys!

With that said, the player numbers gathered from a Beta don’t necessarily guarantee success on launch, as we have seen in recent times, as we look to the another comparable “too big to fail” title… The pre-order sales and wish lists on Steam are already suggesting that the community are hyped for Battlefield 6‘s release. According to data from our friends at Alinea Analytics, we have seen over 600K pre-orders placed for Battlefield 6 on Steam, alongside a huge 2.7 million people wish-listing the title on that platform alone!

Now, I may be no genius, but even I know that this will translate to a sizable revenue stream from the studio. It’s already in the ballpark of around $35 million on Steam alone. This is a single platform that doesn’t include Xbox, PlayStation, or the other various gaming marketplaces available to players. On Steam, Battlefield 6 is sitting at number 2 on the table for revenue and in third place for total sales. With Steam having floods of players setting their eyes on the new shooter, people on their consoles will likely be looking to do the same. Since the Open Beta, people will now be more inclined to place a pre-order or wishlist it when their wallets allow.

Don’t shoot the messenger though, because as much as we all want to get that pre-order in for the new entry in the grounded warfare franchise, people are still holding out as they are still disappointed about pre-ordering Battlefield 2042, and we all know how that went, right? But don’t let that stop you from moseying over to the page to ensure you get in on the action when the launch day approaches, as this is the one Battlefield that has seemingly returned to its original roots of warfare, destruction and large-scale battles.

Are you guys excited about a return to what looks to be a return to peak Battlefield? We at Everything Nerd are locked and loaded and ready for the game to launch, with maybe one or two of us collecting that risky pre-order…. Okay you got me, it’s me okay?! But who can blame a dude when that Beta got us all so hyped?! See you guys on the next open beta weekend. For your sake, you should hope you’re on my team!
