After the massive success of the Fallout TV show, Amazon has now greenlit a live-action series based on the popular and long running video game series Wolfenstein. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are returning to produce the show, while Patrick Somerville will be serving as the showrunner. Somerville has a strong background as the showrunner of such quality sci-fi and thriller series as Station Eleven and Maniac, as well as having writing credits on The Leftovers and 24: Live Another Day.

Most importantly Somerville claims to be a huge fan of the game series, so hopefully this will be a faithful adaptation that expertly captures the tone and essence. Wolfenstein has been around almost as long as video games have been, so there is a lot of material that these writers can work from. I am assuming the show will be most similar to the reboot games of the series since those games had great writing, a high production quality, and tremendously emotional performances. With declining audience interest in Superhero shows and movies, video game adaptations now have room to take over the film and television industry, and I am excited to see how Wolfenstein translates to the small screen.
