Battlefield 6 has landed a huge reveal trailer today, and it looks absolutely massive! If there is anything we can say about what we saw, it is… We are so back! We got a glimpse of what we might be getting in the upcoming title and it for sure got me excited, as it should have gotten all fans of the storied modern combat series excited, because it shows real promise if the developers deliver on the intense and realistic action!
The trailer that dropped today looked visually amazing and really shows us how much the team at Battlefield Studios are looking forward to the next generation of gaming. It showed destruction beyond imagination and what looked to be all-out warfare and visceral gunplay across expansive areas, giving those core battlefield vibes that I could not be more excited for.
The story, from what can be surmised of the trailer, also seems to be that of a war based in and around the United States, but with an international reach. From claustrophobic concrete jungle conflict and devastating destruction across dusty desert plains, to lush jungles and even dimly lit nighttime maps! The trailer was really cool without a doubt, and it gives us much to salivate over.

Aside from the reveal trailer, what do we know about Battlefield 6 so far? Well, we have rumours swirling, of course, but some things are for certain. One official confirmation is that the title will not be released on last generation consoles, proving that the studio developing the illustrious game is looking to bring us mass destruction and huge-scale maps, and by the team focusing on next generation development, this ensures that they can take advantage of the hardware that is available to deliver this.
When I say, by the way, “Battlefield Studios”, this is the team who are developing the game, and it is a collaborative effort between developers. The teams that have combined are – DICE, Criterion, Ripple Studios and Motive. This tells me that they are pulling their best and brightest from each select studio to truly incorporate the ideas that longtime fans want to see in a next-generation Battlefield title. Let’s hope that Battlefield Studios can hit this one out of the park, rather than repeat the Battlefield 2042 situation.

I spoke about this title looking to go back to core Battlefield, and if we look back at the trailer, it is definitely trending in the right direction. New fans got a major insight into what Battlefield used to be about: explosions, buildings crumbling, all-out warfare, vehicles crashing into walls and taking the whole wall with them. All I could say was “heck yeah!”
Along with the returning core Battlefield feel, the game looks to bring back the class systems of previous titles rather than the operators that players currently have to choose from. Many are glad that they have decided to go back to selecting unique classes and combat roles, rather than individual operators, and it looks to me like the developers have really listened to us fans here. It’s a big win for the community!

Lastly, from what we’ve seen in the trailer, we’re looking at a modern setting around the years 2025-2030. This means that the game is going to return to the modern combat realism of Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, and we are going to be looking at weapons closer than what we are used to. The campaign of Battlefield 6 is rumoured to be around the 6-hour mark, which feels like the sweet spot for this series! With a comparatively shorter campaign, this could mean the studio is looking to make the cinematic story really punch like a film.
Let us know what you think in the comments below! Do you think that Battlefield 6 will be a big hit? Or will it proceed with caution after the unfortunate reception of Battlefield 2042?
