With over 2 million copies sold, players and critics alike have been expressing an overwhelming amount of tremendous praise and admiration for Sandfall Interactive’s new story-driven turn-based masterpiece Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but many are finishing all of the offered content and are already hungry for more.
In a recent interview with The Washington Post, Sandfall Interactive co-founders Tom Guillermin and Guillaume Broche spoke about a recent reply to a fan on Instagram made by Svedberg-Yen, lead writer at Sandfall. Guillermin and Broche quickly shut down any talk of new content and DLC for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, as they are quote: “Focused now on making improvements to the current game.”

The excitement from fans for more of the game should be great news for Sandfall because it lets them know that they would likely have no difficulty generating revenue through post-game downloadable content like expansions to the story. It is, however, currently unfortunate for the developers and the players in-that the game was only recently released and the devs are focusing on improving the gameplay experience of the current product before considering additional content.
The newest patch 1.2.3 has fixed a fairly sizable amount of gameplay, graphical, and quality of life issues the game had, but at the same time nerfed a few of the attacks and abilities that many players had come to rely on in difficult combat encounters.

As the game’s popularity and player count continues to grow, I’m sure we’ll see many more of these patches and updates, and once Sandfall is happy with the state of the base game it should only be a matter of time before they start rolling out additional content for eager fans.
