Time certainly does fly! Sold out on launch day across thousands of stores. The Nintendo Wii is an iconic piece of equipment!
I was personally a bit disappointed with it as the game my parents got me was ‘ Red Steel’, I did not like it whatsoever. However as time went on the Wii became a staple in my console set up.
Mario kart Wii is a game I fondly look back on. Countless fun times with friends battling it out for victory! A feature I loved was the backwards compatibility with the GameCube (which I still use to this day).
The Wii sold an estimated 13.56 million units! It was a game changer for the time, with many companies such as PlayStation and Xbox trying hard to replicate its success with motion controls. The ps move and Xbox Kinect are the big examples. Neither of which took off as big as the Wii.
Happy birthday to you Nintendo Wii, you can now buy a cold pint in europe!
Did you have a Wii? What was your favourite game?
